Welcome to Discovery School of the Arts (DSA)!

Rhonda Douty

Discovery School of the Arts is committed to preparing all students with the academic and social-emotional skills needed to become responsible, successful citizens.
We provide rigorous instruction aligned to the California State Standards, enriched with engaging learning experiences that spark creativity, promote collaboration, and build critical thinking and communication skills essential for college and career readiness.

Student leadership is central to our culture, with daily opportunities for students to live by the values of the S.H.I.E.L.D~ Safety, Honor, Integrity, Excellence, Leadership, and Determination.

As a visual and performing arts school, Discovery integrates the arts throughout the instructional day. Students benefit from a research-based curriculum in all core subjects and are placed in flexible, differentiated learning groups based on ongoing assessments. Our approach includes inclusive practices, targeted support for English learners, and a focus on student engagement.

With a dedicated, professionally trained staff, Discovery provides a vibrant and supportive learning environment where academics, the arts, and leadership come together to inspire student success.

Sincerely,

Rhonda Douty, Principal
Discovery School of the Arts

Our Focus

Discovery School of the Arts is dedicated to providing a highly academic environment while embedding the visual and performing arts throughout the day for our students.   We promote a positive system for behavior expectations and students are recognized and rewarded for demonstrating acts of safety, honor, integrity, excellence, leadership and determination.  Parents are encouraged to become involved in their child’s education and become a volunteer at school.  We have a belief that building strong relationships with staff, students and parents give students the strong advantage of finding success, both socially and academically, in the classroom.
